As the EuroHockey Indoor Champioship II - Espinho 2016 is almost here, the organization of the event decided to interview some persons of interest that will be part of the event taking place between 15th and 17th January. This time, the Dutch Umpires Manager of the event, Philip Schellekens, kindly answered a few questions concerning his expectations and his thoughts about the host country of the tournament, Portugal.

What are your expectations for this event?
The event will be very exciting! Top level indoor games where countries will try to reach the A-division.

In your opinion, what are the strongest teams of this event?
In Indoor hockey everything can happen. A good example? Holland is World Champion! So, do not ask me to predict. Everybody can win.

Do you know Portugal? What do you think of the country?
I have sweet memories umpiring the National team of Portugal and club teams of Portugal. As umpire and as umpires’ manager I have been in a lot of countries.
And, shame on me, I have never been in Portugal! This will be my first time and I am sure I will enjoy it very much. The support so far has been great! I’m
really looking forward to this tournament.
